Stories For You and By You.

On Ron’s Amazing Stories we have always had stories for you and by you. This week I am going to do something that I have never done before. I am going to have three listeners tales on the same show. It is a bit scary to do this, because I am worried that you might get tired of hearing my voice, but in the end the three tales are worth it.

When I began the show in April of 2011 my original thought was to present a good product that not only entertained you, but allowed me to showcase my business. I am an editor of words and help people craft theirs into something that they can be proud off.  Whether it is a novel, technical paper or even a blog it is my goal to make your work the best it can be.

In the end the podcast became so much more than that and I ended creating a passion. I love putting the show out there and thought of any gains were soon lost to making the show the best I it could be.  It is my hope that you see that each week.

Want to know what I love most about the show? It is your stories. I get chills each and every time I get an email that informs me that a story is waiting for me. I try to use every one I get, but alas some can’t be told for various reasons. Still I want you to know that each and every one of them is appreciated. Thank you for your support of the show.

Let’s go tell some stories,

-Ron

Our OTR Story – Dateline Lisbon

I love history and our OTR story today plays out like it could have been a historical event from World War II.  If I had to compare it to something, I would have to say it is a cross between Casablanca and the Judgment at Nuremberg. It is a war story set in a neutral city where both Allies and Nazis mix. There are some neat twists and turns to the plot and it is an exciting tale, well written and performed.
It is called Dateline Lisbon and It first aired on October 5, 1944.

Website News

I have reached a decision on the Website issue and will be moving Ron’s Amazing Stories to a new home. The good news is that this will not affect the podcast in any way. We will not have a disruption in the service, publishing dates or content. However, those of you that subscribe to the show via Email will no longer get updates (Currently only five Email subscribers remain after the December troubles). I can not say when the email service will be back on online. Also, none of this will take place is until I establish a new home. We will just limp along until then.

RAS #274 – Jayhawkers

pic274msOn Ron’s Amazing Stories this week it is a western round-up staring the Jayhawkers of Kansas. We have a very entertaining tale from Australia called Tennessee Jed Stops A Wagon and follow that up with one of the best Gunsmoke episodes ever made.

Our OTR Story – Jayhawkers

Our old time radio story is about the Kansas Jayhawkers. They were bands of men that were willing to fight, kill, and rob for a variety of motives right after the Civil War. These men caused more trouble than good and it often led to full out skirmishes. Today the term has softened a bit and now refers to someone born, bred and raised in Kansas. Our OTR story comes from a time when they were not so nice and Marshall Dillon is forced to choose between fighting them or helping a cattle herd from Texas make its way to Dodge City.  It is called The Jayhawkers and first aired on the CBS radio network, April 4, 1953.

The Horror Express #14 – Sasquatch

Welcome to the 14th episode of the Horror Express. In this program Jason and I talk about a large pest infestation called Sasquatch. Also, the Conductor joins us and introduces a creepy old time radio story that he says answers the question of Bigfoot. If that was not enough we have lots of questions and comments from you guys! So please join us for this train ride into the unknown.

Topic – Sasquatch

Bigfoot is an ape-human type creature that many believe lives mostly in forests in the Pacific Northwest region of the North American continent. He is also often referred to as Sasquatch. He is often described as a large and hairy, resembling a half-man, half-ape creature in folklore and myths. Many of those who have reported seeing Bigfoot describe him with large eyes, a low-set forehead, large brow-ridge, and having enormous footprints. He is believed to be upwards of 500 pounds and anywhere from 6 to 8 feet tall. He is also reported to be rather smelly, and he is mainly nocturnal.
