The News – March of 2018

RAS on the Radio

The radio edition of Ron’s Amazing Stories has moved. We can now be heard on Sunday nights at 9pm Pacific time. At first glance, this may seem to be a setback. However, our show has been picked to be the kick-off program for a full slate of Old Time Radio programs. In other words, we are the headliner! I have been thinking about making some changes to the radio show and leaning heavier on OTR material there. Then I would use more listener stories and others on the podcast. My idea would be to advertise the podcast on the radio show. I am thinking that this might increase the numbers of the podcast listeners since the two would no longer be same. I have not talked this over with my radio producer yet and I sure would like to hear your feedback on this. You can leave your comments on Facebook or at ronsmazingstories.com.

The question of the Month

I have received a number emails about Ron’s Amazing Stories – The Archives. There seems to be some confusion about what they are. It is quite simple: Shows 1 through 100 are in the archives. Everything from show 101 to current is at ronsamazingstories.com. What I did was donate the first 100 shows to the public domain. If you want to visit the archives head to the main website and click the banner or head to archive.org and search for Ron’s Amazing Stories. This will give you the humble beginnings of the podcast.

It is a podcast player that syncs your podcasts to the cloud so you can pick up any device and go. It is a free download from the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Amazon Appstore. I took a look at it on my android phone and I like how it’s put together. It has a small footprint and is easy to use. I want to thank PlayApod for asking me to promote them. New Changes At Home Page

RASArchive3SmlOn this edition of the blog, we talk about a couple of new features that have been added to the home website at ronsamazingstories.com.

The Archive – There is now a link to the RAS Archive Site. This is a page on the Internet Archive that contains all of the shows from 2011 through the end of 2012 (with a few from early 2013 tossed in). From here you can stream, download and view all of the early podcasts from Ron’s Amazing Stories. This ends a long-term project to complete the archive. There are a lot of good things there and all you have to do is click on “archives” on the side panel to find them.

The Bold and The Blog – A new TAB is available called “Blog”.  Right now, this simply guides you to the current blog site. In the future, I plan to close the WordPress site and incorporate the podcast and blog in one place. It will be easier for me to maintain and for you find. However, when it goes live it will change how you subscribe to the blog. I will give out more information on that before the change is made. Why the wait? I am waiting for my WordPress subscription to run out.

So, head on over to ronsamazingstories.com, check out these two changes and let me know what you think.

-Ron

The News Update – December 2017

RAS News Update - Blog PostHere is the news for the month of December:

Spotify – Ron’s Amazing Stories will soon to be available on the mobile version of Spotify! This is something I tried and failed to get from the beginning. I did all of the paperwork and am now waiting for the podcast to show up on the list. So, if you are Spotify user, on your phone or tablet, be sure to favorite us and rate us. This is a big step forward!

IOS App Store Link  or  Google Play Link

The Blog – Do you read the blog? My numbers suggest that maybe fifty of you do. The blog is an extension to the show often with more information about what you are hearing or what is coming up. It is weekly and you can follow it on WordPress, Facebook or have an email sent to you when it is updated.

Stories – I have had a shortage stories of late, which is not unusual for the holiday season. You can send me your stories, stories ideas or request a call back at ronsmazingstories.com and click on the contact tab. Your stories are what makes this… Ron’s Amazing Stories!

Upcoming events – We have some cool stuff coming to the show.  Jason and I are preparing The Horror Express #20! This show will cover UFO’s and Jason is going to talk about the recent find in Peru that has everyone rethinking the alien part of ufology! My Brother Jim is preparing to tell us all about his strange visit to an ancient Scottish chapel, and I am working on scheduling interviews with some upcoming authors. It just keeps getting better!
