RAS #618 – Elizabeth The Doll

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time we are telling the story of Elizabeth The Doll. Joining me are Emma Lynn Dowd and Sylvia Shults. Two of the most amazing people I have ever met. The doll came into my family’s life in 2005 and caused nothing but trouble. In the end I sent the creature to Emma in Florida to figure it out. Emma did solve part of the puzzle but not without experiencing troubles of her own. There are many twists and turns to be had – Bad dreams, whoaful luck, broken bones, and disembodied voices. What started as a new doll for a collection has ended up with more questions than answers. On the show this week Slyvia, Emma and I will give you at least a few of those answers.

RAS #617 – Cold Equations

Ron’s Amazing Stories is a captivating podcast that combines the love for audiobooks, storytelling, and listener submissions. In this episode, Ron shares his passion for mystery fiction, recommends a thrilling science fiction audiobook, and features listener-submitted adventure stories.

One of the highlights of the episode is Ron’s recommendation of The Downloaded by Robert J. Sawyer. Set in the year 2059, this science fiction audiobook takes listeners on a journey where survivors of a global cataclysm face the imminent threat of an asteroid collision. Ronald’s enthusiasm for this book is evident as he describes the immersive experience created by the narration and the innovative use of Dolby Atmos technology.

The podcast also showcases the power of storytelling through listener submissions. Ron shares a chilling tale of a doppelganger encounter, which was submitted by a dedicated listener. This segment allows the audience to become active participants in the podcast, fostering a sense of community and engagement.

Featured Story – Cold Equations

Cold Equations

Our featured story is a fascinating bit of science fiction. If you are familiar with the first space flights of the 1950’s you know just how important fuel conservation was. You were allowed so many burn-cycles before the mission was a failure. But what if the mission only allowed for failure? What if there was only enough fuel for one outcome and hundreds of lives depended on it? That is the premise of the tale Cold Equations. It first aired on X-Minus One in August of 1955.

Other Stories Include – Blood On My Hands, Review – The Downloaded, Why are you just standing there, That’s My Name, Cold Equations, and Johnny Is It True – Santiago

RAS #616 – The Coffin In Studio B

On Ron’s Amazing Stories we extend The Month Of Spooky 2023 yet another week. My crack staff has  found another behind the scenes horror story from the OTR series Lights Out. This time Arch Oboler begs the question: What happens when a coffin salesman comes to the recording studio during a broadcast of the show? You won’t believe the answer! I am pretty sure you have never heard one like this before. Also on the show, we review the audiobook 50 Real Ghost Stories Of First Responders, and we have a new edition of These Are Your Stories.

On Ron’s Amazing Stories, we’re back with more from the great mind of Arch Oboler. This week a man murders his buddy for money. However, he soon realizes that he made a big mistake and has to flee. The story takes a wild turn when he ends up on the high seas where he encounters the ghost. We also review another creepy audiobook, and we have a themed segment of These Are Your Stories. RAS #614 – The Organ

More scary stuff on the show this week as we continue The Month Of Spooky 2023. We have another Lights Out story from Arch Oboler. This time it is a traditional ghost story. A family rents an old mansion for two months for only a hundred dollars. That should send up red flags! To say this one a freaky adventure is an understatement. Also on the show we have more of your stories including another installment of These Are Your Stories – Special Edition

Featured Story – The Organ

Arch Oboler

Our featured story comes from Arch Olober and his old time radio series Lights Out. A family rents a ghostly old Victorian mansion from Service Supreme for two months. The cost is only 100 hundred dollars. Cheap even in the 1930s. But what will be the real cost? And what does the Oboler sense of horror have in store for us? You won’t believe the result. It is titled simply, Organ, and it first aired on May 12, 1937.

Other Stories Include – Monsters Under My Bed, It Sounded Like A Puppy, The Flames Of Ghosts, The Organ, and Ghost In Cascadia State Park
