Dimension X IconOn Ron’s Amazing Stories this week we have a classic science fiction story for the series Dimension X. This tale is a recent find for me on the internet archives. I don’t know if I just missed it or if it was recently uploaded. It is a story about man’s attempt to break into deep space. If you think about it even though this story was written in 1950 we still know very little about what it out there. Could this story foretell what we will face? You can find out this Thursday.

Also on the show, we have three more of your stories. We have an interrupted funeral, angel visitation and good old fashioned UFO story from Roswell, New Mexico. I hope that you will join us as we find out what are Ron’s Amazing Stories!

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time we have a new segment with our own Sylvia Shults. This time she tells stories about the friendly or helpful ghost. We hear a heartwarming tale about a sister’s loss and ghostly beach visit. Also, Ron reads the science fiction classic The Test Rocket.

Our story for today was written by Jack Douglas. It is a “What If” tale that looks at space exploration and pitfalls it could potentially unleash. It comes from the Amazing Stories Magazine April of 1955 edition and is titled Test Rocket. It received high-honors from the writers of the time.

Program Note: Sylvia Shults is a Librarian, Author, and Ghost Hunter. She has spent a lifetime in the pursuit of the weird and the strange. Her non-fiction works include Ghost of the Illinois River, Fractured Spirits, 44 Years in Darkness, Hunting Demons and The Spirits of Christmas. One Day Late!

Well, this blog is one day late. Why You might ask? Yesterday was just one of those days where there was just too much to do and I needed more time to do it. I actually like days that if I get everything accomplished. Unfortunately, the blog didn’t make the cut. To make matters worse I don’t even have a good topic to write about this week. So, I thought I would tell you about tomorrow’s podcast:

Test RocketI think it is going to be a good one. We have a new edition of Ghost Stories With Sylvia. This time her topic is helpful or friendly ghosts. Hard to believe, but true.  On These Are Your Stories, Katherine tells us about the loss of a brother and the ghost boy on the beach. We close the show with my first attempt at dramatic reading. I will share a classic science fiction tale called Test Rocket.

It’s amazing how much you can learn about absolute strangers if you just stop to think about the kind of an animal they’ll put in a test rocket… – Jack Douglas
