RAS #393 – These Are Your Stories II

On Ron’s Amazing Stories we are going to do something that we have never done before. We have a total of seven stories all from you guys. We have everything from bigfoot to time slips. We have a ghost at a museum, a cryptid who hitchhikes, and we even head to Yosemite National Park. Also, what show would be complete without a shadow. So, put on your favorite headphones and settle in for one heck of a ride.

Featured Story – These Are Your Stories
There is no featured story his week. This will be the first time we have ever done a complete show dedicated to your stories. On the show, we will have three brand new stories, which includes a creepy tale about a shaggy shadow beast, A real non-ghost story, and one from LBJ Lake, Texas. It is a tale of a 1950s time-slip that occurred in 1984. Then we reach back into the archives and play some of our favorite listeners submissions.

These Are Your Stories!

Update For JanuaryOn the podcast this week I think we have an amazing show. We won’t be featuring any stories that didn’t come from you. This will be the first time we have ever done a complete show dedicated to your stories.

Here’s how it will work.

On the show, we will have three brand new stories. These will include a creepy tale about a shaggy shadow beast, A real non-ghost story, and our featured story comes from LBJ Lake, Texas. It is a tale of a 1950s time-slip that occurred in 1984. Then we will reach back into the archives and play some of your favorite listeners submissions. This will be based on the feedback I received from you over the past few years.

So, be looking for all of this to happen Thursday, August 15, 2019

-Ron

RAS #392 – Accidental Death

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time, Jackson makes a comment, Yanaba tells us about Yenaldlooshi, and Betty has a creepy story about her encounter with a BEK. Also, our featured story for this episode is about an accidental death in space. Throw in a hitch-hiker, a moment in time from June 17th, 1951, and you have quite a show.

Featured Story – Accidental Death

Our featured story this week comes from Astounding Science Fiction Magazine in February 1959. Do you believe in luck? Or is luck just a superstition? Can what we do or how we believe change our reality? And can that power, or the lack thereof, become a weapon? The tale is called Accidental Death and was written by Peter Baily.

Rons Amazing Categories

Ron's Amazing CategoriesI have been working on updating the podcast categories on the main website. That task has been completed and is ready for your review. What I have done is simplify the categories which should make it easier to find podcasts. Please keep in mind that I am limited one category per show, so the new system is based on what I am featuring on that episode. For example, all of the shows that feature a Ghost Stories With Sylvia are in their own group.

The new categories are:

Blog: I don’t use the blog feature much on the main website. This actually just redirects to this WordPress website (https://ronsamazingstories.blog).
Featured – Interview:  This includes all interviews done on Ron’s Amazing Stories when it is the featured activity.
Featured – Old Time Radio:  This includes all podcasts when the featured story comes from the golden age of radio. This is the bulk of the shows and can be daunting when you are looking for a particular episode. When I first began the podcast every show had an OTR story. At some point, I may break this out by smaller categories.
Featured – Your Stories: This includes all podcasts where the featured story comes from you or was suggested by a listener.
Ghost Stories With Sylvia: This includes all shows that feature Sylvia Shults. You can find out more about her on her website
Old Time Horror with Jim Harold: This includes all shows that feature Jim Harold. You can find out more about Jim on his website
Ron’s Favorite Shows: Over the years I have done some shows that mean a lot to me or are just really good. You will find a few of those here. I will be adding more of them as they happen.
The Horror Express: This includes all shows that feature Jason Dowd and the Horror Express Conductor. You can find out more about Jason at his website.  If you want to know more about the conductor? Well, that’s tough because he is a fleshing eating train conductor who is part of the evil dead community. Fictionally speaking of course.

I hope that you enjoy these changes and that they help you sift through all of the amazing shows that we have done together over the years. Feedback on this project would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

-Ron

RAS #391 – Spacemen Never Die!

On Ron’s Amazing Stories we have quite the undertaking, or rather the undertaker. Stanley Swan is here to talk about his new book, Tales Unleashed and will read us a story from it. Alberto takes us to Old Mexico with a tale about a haunted ranch house, and we have a science fiction story called Spacemen Never die!

Featured – Stanley Swan and Tales Unleashed.

Knowing as a youngster that he would become an undertaker, Stanley has always been fascinated by tales of the unknown and unusual. He grew up in the fifties and sixties watching science fiction and reading stories by legends like Alfred Hitchcock and Rod Serling. After spending 35 years in the funeral business, Stan wrote his first book Undertakings of an Undertaker.  In this new book, Tales Unleashed,  you’ll experience the chill of a fortune teller, a pumpkin weeping for home, a crow who stands guard over his domain and being ‘lost’ at the drive-in. There are twenty-eight short stories in all and they are just that good.
