RAS #448 – Into The Darkness

This time on Ron’s Amazing Stories we take a walk on the dark side. We have three listener stories that include it in form or another. The first one just might be the creepiest story to date. Then we head to Glacier National Park to witness a rip in space and time, and finally, Tammy encounters an entity shrouded in darkness. Jason Dowd is back with the second installment of The Paranormal With Jason. Jason answers listener Camille’s question about time-slips. Do you think you can handle it?

About Jason Dowd – From an early age, Jason has loved his art. Over the years he has used various mediums, but none was more profound to him than photography. He finds inspiration wherever he goes because he keeps his eyes open for things that will make the perfect photo. Jason lives in the great state of Florida and has been a part of Ron’s Amazing Stories since the beginning. He first appeared on the podcast in episode #78 where he introduced us to his book A Haunted Soul: A True Story of One Man’s Struggle with the Paranormal. If that wasn’t enough Jason is our radio producer. He has been putting the podcast out on the radio for the last 5 years! Jason is also the CEO and founder of Gladys Goodies.

RAS #447 – Into The Unknown

Welcome to the unknown that is Ron’s Amazing Stories. The unknown comes from our stories. We have a strange missing person case, lost time in a Cessna aircraft, and a creepy tale from the Mojave Desert. Also, we have a brand new Johnny Is It True and a classic science fiction story that was made into a Twilight Zone episode. Please enjoy!

Featured Story – Time Enough At Last

Our featured story was written when the world was a very different place. It takes a look from the point of view of a bank teller who’s life pre-apocalypse isn’t all that great. The Story is called Time Enough At Last and was first published in IF magazine January of 1953. It was written by Lyn Venable.

A Question From Mike!

Rons Picture

I received this email from MikeSnap1287:

Hey Ron, I have been listening to the show for a while now and have a question for you. Your stories – do people really send them in to you? I notice a pattern to them …a formula if you will. There is a voice that sounds familiar in every story you read. Do you make them up?  – Mike

Well Mike, the simple answer to your question is …of course there is a pattern to them. I do read them after all. Oh, and yes people really do send their stories to me. I get them in various states and often edit them to make them easier to read. Funny, the biggest issue I come across is the “Run-On-Sentence”. You see I have to be able to breathe ..so I break those puppies up. For the record. To date I have had well over 200 stories sent in to me since 2011.

Thank you for your question Mike.

-Ron

Also, we answer a question from Dorothy Griffin of Columbus, Ohio. Dorthy wants to know if either Sylvia or I watch ghost hunting shows and what we think about them. This became a “spirited” conversation (Pun intended!) As an added bonus I will tell the amazing tale of Elmer McCurdy! This is a truly odd, Not So Important Times In History. So settle in, relax, and enjoy the podcast.

Program Notes: Sylvia Shults is a Librarian, Author, and Ghost Hunter. She has spent a lifetime in the pursuit of the weird and strange.
