RAS Replay – Sincerely, Iris

pic258replayms

This week we take a spring break and present this replay of one of my favorite episodes. Last spring in 2016 I did a special tribute to Mark Twain. While doing the research for that show I ran across a song about Twain called 1,000 Years by Sincerely, Iris. I contacted them and got permission to play the song as part of the tribute. Since then I have had the good fortune to meet the founder of the group, Todd Murray and he is here to share his music, tell some stories and tell us all about Road Trip music. This is a very cool episode of Ron’s Amazing Stories!

RAS #283 – The Titan of Kansas!

This time on Ron’s Amazing Stories, we take a minute to appreciate TuneIn Radio. They have played a part in history of the show since 2013. I have named this podcast, The Titan of Kansas. It comes from a listener’s story sent in to the show, and it is good one. Also, on this podcast debut a new OTR series called World Adventurers Club.

Our OTR Stories – The World Adventures Club

We have a brand new series to debut on Ron’s Amazing Stories. It is called the World Adventurer’s Club. The setting for the series is a well-to-do gentleman’s club of the type that flourished in the 1890’s. We will actually play two episodes of the show. The first is is episode #7, and is called The land of death. Our second story is episode #13, and is called The Elephant’s Graveyard. I hope you enjoy them both.

Please Note:  You may experience some problems with the main website this week (www.ronsamazingstories.com). I am in the process of leaving my current wordpress provider.  This will not affect the podcast distribution in any way.

RAS #282 – Kaleidoscope

pic282ms

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this week we have a Kaleidoscope of tales to present. Tom Williams who is a listener from Berlin, Germany presents two tales from his past. Also, our OTR story just might be one of the best ever on the program. Then we have a thrill story about mail delivery on the moon and of course we will top it off with another Five Minute Mystery. Our OTR Tale – Kaleidoscope

When I first heard our story for today I was transfixed. Held in the moment… thinking what would I do? You can’t help but do that as you listen to this story. It comes from the series Suspense and tells a story about six surviving crew members of a destroyed space ship. The story is an adaption of the famous short-story written by Ray Bradbury. It is called Kaleidoscope and first hit the radio waves on July 12, 1955.

RAS #281 – The Ghost of Berlin, NV.

The Ghost of Berlin

Ron’s Amazing Stories we have an incredible ghost story today from Shamir in Nevada. I have named it, The Ghost of Berlin, NV. It is sure to curl your toes!  Also, we head out west with Matt Dillon for a story about a man who invents a device that converts dimes to dollars! So, buckle up and hang on this is going to be a good one.

Berlin, Nevada is a real place with a real history. The town was established in 1897 as part of the Union Mining District after the opening of the Berlin Mine the previous year. The town never prospered to the same extent as other boom towns, declined following the Panic of 1907, and was largely abandoned by 1911. The site was acquired by the state of Nevada as part of Berlin–Ichthyosaur State Park in 1970.

Our OTR Story – The Fabulous Silver Extender

This week’s OTR tale is dedicated to my brother. It comes from the best western of the golden age of radio, Gunsmoke. It takes us into the world of the flimflam artist and two unsuspecting cowboys. The tale is called the The Fabulous Silver Extender and it first aired June 05,1960.
