Featured Story – Dark Destiny

Our featured story this week comes from the old time radio series The Mysterious Traveler. You have been asking for a return to the OTR genre and this is a good one. The story has a few twists and turns that should keep you guessing. What would you do if faced with the life or death choice of your own wife? How far would you be willing to go so that she might live? The title is Dark Destiny and it first aired on April 13, 1947.

Program Note: Here is the link to the episode of the Mysterious Traveler that I spoke of on the show. It is called Behind The Locked Door.

RAS #365 – Shipwreck In The Sky

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time we have a shipwreck in space, UFOS in the mists, and a pig in the trunk. Add in a visit to 1944, a haunted home, and you’ll see why we love our stories. This one is so full of good stuff it might not be legal. You decide.

Featured Story – Shipwreck In The Sky

Our featured story this week appears to be a bit a bit dated until you realize it was first published in Fantastic Universe in the March 1954 issue. Shipwreck in the Sky was written by Eando Binder. It tells the tale of Captain Dan Barstow who is a young eager astronaut first trip into space.

Featured Story – Prison Of A Billion Years

Adam Slade was a man who had nothing to lose by making a break for it. The trouble was, he knew that no one had ever escaped from the Prison of a Billion Years. – C.H. Thames

Sound like a good story? I thought so when I read it. It first appeared in the April 1956 issue of Imagination Science Fiction and It was Written by C.H. Thames. The story is rich with adventure, read by one of the best storytellers I know, Mark Nelson and is called Prison Of A Billion Years.

RAS #363 – Random O’Malley

On Ron’s Amazing Stories have epic tales ranging from a trip to Woodstock in 1969 to a space alien roaming our skies. Tom is back to tell us about his first job and we debut a brand new segment of Ghost Stories with Sylvia Shults. Add in a spirit from Oak Park, a celebrity cameo, and I think you will find this one enjoyable.

Featured Story – The Good Neighbor

Our featured story is a story written by Edgar Pangborn called The Good Neighbors. It was first published in his collection of short stories called Good Neighbors and Other Strangers in 1972. It is expertly read for us by Gregg Margarite.

RAS #362 – Bigfoot Calling Bigfoot

Welcome to Ron’s Amazing Stories and a new year of podcasts in general. On this program, we have a bigfoot story from the Pacific Crest Trail, A medieval science fiction short story sent in and read by Corey Snow, and Tom Williams tells us what it is like on the other side of the green grass. So, kick it back, grab your beverage of choice, and enjoy the show.

Featured Story – Bigfoot Calling Bigfoot – Our featured story this week was sent in by a listener from Buffalo New York. I love the story because it takes place in the area of Washington state I am very familiar with, The Pacific Crest Trail. I personally have never had the pleasure of an encounter with Bigfoot, but I have heard of many stories told to me by people I respect. I have always believed that there is something out there.

Here are two links to go with Jeremy’s story: The Pacific Crest Trail – Official Site and Bigfoot Sightings From the Pinchot National Forest – The opening scene from this short film was shot in Stevenson Washington. I love the Predator music in the background.
