RAS #380 – Night Of Fright

I think we have a pretty good Ron’s Amazing Stories this time. We have a story about two Facebookers who encounter a UFO. Sylvia Shults is back with another round of ghost stories for us, and we have one of my favorite Harry Harrison short stories called Toy Shop. Add in a special surprise, and I think you’ll want to press that play button.

Featured – Ghost Stories With Sylvia

Sylvia Shults is a Librarian, Author, and Ghost Hunter. She has spent a lifetime in the pursuit of the weird and the strange. RAS #379 – The Planet Zevious

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time we cover a lot of ground. I answer the question, How do you go about putting together the show? We have three new listener stories that range from lights on the water to a ghost on the phone. Also, I discovered a lost episode from the OTR series The Mysterious Traveler called The Planet Zevious. Sound good? Then press that play button and let’s go!

Featured Story – The Planet Zevious

When I am searching for stories to share I sometimes find things that I have never heard before. That is the case with planet Zevious. While the story may not seem all that original try to remember that it was recorded over seventy years ago. It tells of a first venture into space, but from a different perspective. It is titled The Planet Zevious and comes from one of my favorite OTR series The Mysterious Traveler. It first aired the Mutual Broadcast System on August 2, 1948.

RAS #378 – To Haiti and Back

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this week Jason Dowd and Ron get aboard the Horror Express for a mini-episode. Jason has an update on a story he told us at Christmas time. Angela from Texas tells us two creepy tales from Haiti that were passed down from her father’s, father’s father!. We also have a classic Science Fiction short story called Spoken for, and a Five Minute Mystery called Fisherman’s Clue.

Featured Story – Spoken For

We have an odd little story today. It comes from the July 1955 issue of Galaxy Magazine. It tells a dramatic story of a man who finds himself lost on the moon Ganymede. He is looking for his family and finds a young woman who tries to help. She, in turn, falls in love with him while they unravel his tale. It is titled Spoken For and it was written by William Morrison.

RAS #377 – Dr. Grimshaw’s Sanitarium

On Ron’s Amazing Stories we return to the classics with an OTR episode from X-Minus One. It is a creepy science fiction tale called Dr. Grimshaw’s Sanitarium. We also have two ghost stories from our listeners, and a brand new edition of A Moment In Time from September 2, 1945.

Featured Story – Our featured story comes from old-time radio series X-Minus One. It is a crossover consisting of horror, crime drama, and science fiction. This one is well acted and written, which was the norm for all of X-Minus One productions. It is titled Dr. Grimshaw’s Sanitarium and this version aired on July 14, 1955.
