RAS #417 – The Red Room

This is Ron’s Amazing Stories, where we begin a new year. My radio producer told me that my show was too short! So, I added more stuff. On the show this week we have a haunted limousine, a strange follower, and I take a turn and tell a story that happened to me! We also have an H.G. Wells classic that is NOT science fiction called The Red Room. Hard to believe but it’s true. Speaking of true we have a Washington edition of Johnny Is It True. So, relax and enjoy the show.

Program Note: Here is the link to the pictures for Ron’s story The Miracle Tree.

Featured Story – The Red Room

Our featured story this week comes from the pen of H.G. Wells. It is a tale that he was inspired to write after reading selected works by H.P. Lovecraft. It is a ghost story written by a man of science and It will compel you to listen. It is called The Red Room and was published by Harper & Brothers in 1898 in the book Thirty Strange Stories by H.G. Wells.

RAS #414 – Creepy Pictures

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time Jason and Ron head back to the Horror Express for a chat about Creepy Pictures, Past Lives, and Ghost Hunting. They answer your questions and Jason tells us about the night he spent in his Great Aunt’s 200-year-old manor house.

Show Note Links: Taken from life: The unsettling art of death photography and Jason’s Death Photography Photos.

The Horror Express with Jason Dowd – Art is a way of life for Jason. From an early age, he created various forms of artwork using various mediums, but none was as profound to him for his own work than photography. He finds inspiration wherever he goes because he keeps his eyes open for things that will make the perfect embellishment for a photo or looks for the story that inspires him to tell it to the world as only he can.

Jason’s Links: FaceBook, Twitter, Gladdy’s Goodies, AME Magazine, and Imagine-nation Art Studios.

RAS #413 – The Roosevelt Hotel

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time we have three from you guys! One comes from the Roosevelt Hotel, we have Drama Class Drama, and those Black Eyed Kids are back. Add in a Cuckoo Bird who just might be a murderer, and we end the show with one of my favorite foods. So, grab a beverage and listen to this one.

Featured Story – Beyond The Door

Our featured story this week comes from the January 1954 issue of Fantastic Universe. Do you believe in the magic of the cuckoo clock? Many say that the clock has a life all its own. But, what if the cuckoo doesn’t like you? Beyond The Door is a short story by Philip K. Dick. The plot follows a cuckoo clock resident, which may or may not be intelligent.

RAS #412 – Nightfall

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope that you and your families are having a wonderful break. This is going to be a different show from normal. I needed to take some time off for a special project that I have to thank my brother Jim and his wife for. Perhaps I will tell that story to you guys one day. Not to worry we do have stories for you this week and I hope that you enjoy them!

Featured Story – Nightfall

For this special thanksgiving podcast, I wanted to play a story that is timeless. The tale takes place on a planet where conditions are very different from those here on earth. In this one, we are forced to imagine what life would be like with no night. Our story is called Nightfall and first aired on Dimension X on November 29, 1951.
