RAS #433 – Ask A Foolish Question

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time we have some amazing stories. We introduce a book about galactic warfare, hear about a spirit guide in Alaska, A girl has an exciting sleep paralysis experience, and Amanda’s grandpa is blue. Our featured story is a sci-fi classic and we end the show with Ali versus Marciano. All of that, and it’s free.

Featured Story – Ask A Foolish Question

Our story this week is a mind-bender, unlike anything we have ever had on the show. When I heard it I was left with so many questions that I was left with …what does it all mean? Man has always wanted to have all of the answers, now he finds a machine that can answer them. But, does he know the right question? The story is titled Ask a Foolish Question and it was written by Robert Sheckley. It first appeared in the pulp mag, Science Fiction Stories in 1953.

RAS #431 – The Orb Story

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time we explore the world of the Orb and tell its story. We have four listeners’ tales on the subject, an old-time radio personality that plays one, and we end with a news story from 2013 about the Teotihuacans who used them. So, get ready to be amazed and press that play button.

Featured Story – Ham Spade, Private Orb

Our featured story is a story within a program called The Henry Morgan Show. It is quite humorous and doesn’t really have anything to do with Orbs. It comes from Henry’s old-time radio series. The episode titled Ham Spade, Private Orb and it first aired on April 25, 1950.

A scream of brakes, the splash into icy waters, a long descent into alkaline depths … it was death. But Ned Vince lived again—a million years later!

It was written by Raymond Z. Gallun and is read for us by Greg Margarite.
