RAS #477 – The Earthmen

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time we will start off with a return to one of my very favorite science fiction shows. Then we have two of your stories. A phantom mist shocks a young boy and a woman encounters something in the Nevada desert. We follow that up with some classic science fiction from author Ray Bradbury titled The Earthmen. We end the program with a new segment called True Facts

Featured Story – The Earthmen

Our featured story is a classic that comes from the pen of Ray Bradbury. It was first published in Thrilling Wonder Stories, August of 1948. It is the saga of an expedition to mars where the crew encounters a martian community not far from their landing site. At first, they received a less than warm welcome, but soon all that changes. The Earthmen is from the old-time radio series Escape. It first aired on July 25, 1957.

You will hear a tale about a phantom fistfight and a window that only displays scenes from the past. Also on the show, Sylvia joins me for a special audible segment that is both historical and current. How can that be? Press the play button and check it out.

RAS #475 – In Pursuit Of A Ghost

On Ron’s Amazing Stories we have a story from Alex in Saint Bernard Parish who encounters a couple who drowned during Katrina. Then we play a classic story from director and actor Orson Welles. In this one we learn that it might be best if you tell the truth from the start to avoid unnecessary complications. We end the show with some Dominios history that the company would rather forget. I am sure we all understand that.

Featured Story – Pursuit of a Ghost

Our featured story is all about  Harry Lime from the celebrated 1949 film The Third Man. In that film Orson Welles’ character, Harry Lime, was killed. So our tale is a “prequel” of sorts.  Harry tries some shenanigans to get some cash and finds himself lost in a battle to find the criminal El Zorro. What we have is an episode from the OTR series The Lives Of Harry Lime. It comes from November of 1951 and is tilted In Pursuit of a Ghost.

RAS #474 – Savannah Georgia

On Ron’s Amazing Stories we have something pretty special. Jason Dowd is back and we take a journey with him to the city of Savannah, GA. You will not believe the ghost stories he experienced while staying at the Planter’s Inn. Also on the show are two listener tales that fall directly into the category of the head scratcher. A postman tries to make a delivery and is halted by a ghost, and a shadow on the wall defies any logic. We end the show with a brand new Johnny Is It True, alien edition.

About Jason Dowd – From an early age, Jason has loved his art. Over the years he has used various mediums, but none was more profound to him than photography. He finds inspiration wherever he goes because he keeps his eyes open for things that will make the perfect photo. Jason lives in the great state of Florida and has been a part of Ron’s Amazing Stories since the beginning. He first appeared on the podcast in episode #78 where he introduced us to his book A Haunted Soul: A True Story of One Man’s Struggle with the Paranormal. If that wasn’t enough Jason is our radio producer. He has been putting the podcast out on the radio for the last 5 years! Jason is also the CEO and founder of Gladys Goodies.

RAS #473 – The Stowaway

On Ron’s Amazing Stories we continue with a year in review from 2020. In part two we conclude with August through December. We have listener stories about bigfoot, pumpkinhead and even a ghost that likes to start fires. There is a classic Sci-Fi story called The Stowaway that is nothing short of amazing. So press that play button and enjoy the show.

Featured Story – The Stowaway

We have an amazing story suggested by German Finley and read for us by Maddie Ruth. The story is about the first rocket to the moon and one man’s attempt to stowaway aboard it. It first appeared in the If – Worlds of Science Fiction, March of 1952. He stole a ride to the Moon in search of glory, but found a far different destiny.
