RAS #481 – Sandhog Murders

On Ron’s Amazing Stories we have some stories about Bigfoot. This includes Bigfoot gone fishing, Bigfoot out for a walk and Lowell throws stones at Bigfoot. RAS #479 – These Dreams

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this time we have stories about dreams. Four listeners sent in their night encounters and they are freaky. We have out of body experiences, shadows, doppelgängers, bats, mice and more. These are some of the most eventful tales we have ever had. Also, on the show we have a science fiction classic titled Operation Distress. It comes from the pulp magazines and is read for us by Dale Grothman. This is a packed show.

Featured Story – Operation Distress

Our featured story is a science fiction classic. It was written by Lester del Rey and first appeared in Galaxy Science Fiction – August of 1951. There are many things that could go wrong in space, but one that is more feared than any is the threat of picking up a new disease. Even during the space age of the sixties and seventies astronauts were held in quarantine to ensure that they hadn’t picked up something while up there. That is what our story is about today. It is titled Operation Distress and opens with these words.

Explorers who dread spiders and snakes prove that heroism is always more heroic to outsiders. Then there’s the case of the first space pilot to Mars who developed an itch

RAS #478 – The Man Who Tried To Save Lincoln

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this week we have a tribute to both Valentine’s Day and President’s Day. Berklie Apedaile has written a new fantasy story titled A Cherub’s Dilemma. Then we visit president Abraham Lincoln in 1865. To round things out Peach tells a tale about a snowplow driver who sees a ghost in a cemetery! Not once, but twice! Our featured story comes from one of my favorite OTR series The Mysterious Traveler. It is a time travel tale, but with a twist. What if you could travel back in time, but not need your body? That is the premise for this one. With presidents day just around the corner I thought that we should visit 1865 and President Lincoln. The adventure is titled The Man Who tried To Save Lincoln and first aired on February 7, 1950.
