Our featured story comes from the master of horror and suspense, Borris Karloff. Did you know that for a very brief time he had his very own radio show? It was titled Creeps By Night.  It was broadcast on the Blue Network in 1944. It provided Boris Karloff with his first full-time role on a radio program. The story you will hear today is titled The Final Reckoning and presents a tale of revenge being a dish best served cold. It first aired May 2, 1944.

Our featured story comes from the pulp magazine Fantastic Universe September issue 1957. The story plays on the Ray Bradbury theme of The Martian Chronicles but with a twist. Earth has still been destroyed and is looking to find solace on Mars. But do they find the music too much for them? The tale is called, I Like Martian Music and was written by Charles E. Fritch.

There have been a number of interesting theories advanced about life on Mars, but few have equalled Charles Fritch’s intriguing picture of the world of Longtree and Channeljumper in its infinite variations, tonal and thematic. The Mars of these two is an old culture, old and finite.

A Case Of Identity

Our featured story was written by the great Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It focuses on a jilted lover, Miss Sutherland, who has been left at the altar by her fiancé when he mysteriously disappeared on their wedding day. Miss Sutherland approaches Sherlock Holmes to help find him, and he discovers that the truth is stranger than fiction. It is titled A Case Of Identity and was first published in a collection of short stories called The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in September of 1891.

Well, today we take a look at what that could be like. A milquetoast lawyer accidentally receives a package in the mail containing a cloning machine from the future, with which he sets about making a duplicate capable of turning his life around. But does it work? We will find out in the story Child’s Play. It first aired on X-Minus One on October 20, 1955.
