One of the stories Milton wrote for Galaxy magazine was titled The Sense Of Wonder.  It looks at a society that is told what to do, when to do it, and who it is acceptable to do it with. But what if you were born different and had your own notion between what is and what is not. What consequences would that lead to? Milton’s story has been adapted for radio by the OTR series X Minus One and it first aired on April 24, 1956.

RAS #634 – The Fugitive

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this week, we’re taking a trip back to the 1930s for a thrilling adaptation of the classic film The Fugitive. The story follows a conflicted Catholic priest who is on the run in an unnamed Latin American country where religion is outlawed. Our radio version features Henry Fonda reviving his role as the nameless priest. He’s a man torn between his faith and his desire to survive. And he’s not the only one on the run. There’s also a murderous North American bandit named El Gringo, who is both the priest’s protagonist and antagonist. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of Ron’s Amazing Stories!

Featured Story – The Fugitive

We have the radio adaptation of the 1947 film The Fugitive. It was based on the 1940 novel The Power and the Glory by Graham Greene. Greene’s novel tells the story of a renegade Catholic whisky priest (a term coined by Greene) living in the Mexican state of Tabasco in the 1930s, a time when the Mexican government was attempting to suppress the Catholic Church. The Fugitive first aired on The Screen Directors Playhouse on July 12, 1951.

Our featured story comes from the OTR series Screen Directors Playhouse. It is titled Yellow Sky and stars one of the most revered actors of old Hollywood, Greggory Peck. A pistol-packing tomboy and her grandfather discover a band of bank robbing bandits (Lead by Peck) looking to take refuge in their ghost town. This one has it all desert action, lost gold, a tribe of apaches, and of course adventure. Also, this one has some of the best Pabst Blue Ribbon beer commercials ever made.  It first aired July 15, 1947.
