A New Segment For You!

Ghost Stories With SylviaOn the podcast this week we debut a brand new segment called Ghost Stories with Sylvia. This really isn’t a true debut, but more of a continuation of a good thing. Ghost Stories with Sylvia actually first appeared on the podcast in RAS #174 on October 7th, 2014.

Sylvia Shults is a Librarian and Author by day, but at night she becomes a Ghost Hunter. She has spent a lifetime in the pursuit of the weird and the strange. Her non-fiction works include Ghost of the Illinois River, Fractured Spirits, 44 Years in Darkness, Hunting Demons and The Spirits of Christmas. All of her books are available on Amazon and are well worth a read. You can find out everything she does on her WordPress Home Page.

Here are the links to Ron’s Amazing Stories podcasts she has been on.

The News – January 2019

Ron Amazing NewsWelcome to the new year. There are going to be some amazing changes to Ron’s Amazing Stories this coming year. One of which debuts this week. Tom Williams has been bringing us his stories for some time now under the segment, As Read By. Beginning Thursday Tom has his very own segment called Growing Up.

Speaking of new segments I have just signed some new/old talent for the show. Coming this month is Ghost Stories with Sylvia. Those of you who have around know that this has been a mainstay for the spooky season for the last five years. Starting this month Ghost Stories With Sylvia is going to be a 15-minute monthly segment with author Sylvia Shults. I can’t tell you how excited I am about this and Sylvia has expressed how much she is looking forward to it as well. She is the best Ghost Storyteller available bar none!

That is not all that is news here at the podcast we are looking at adding advertising to the show. I know that many of you are saying “NO!” I will make you this promise. It will be good stuff, things I believe in and have checked out. On last week’s Horror Express you heard the first of these. Gladdy’s Goodies made their debut as a sponsor with their short commercial. If you have something you want to sell or promote on Ron’s Amazing Stories please contact us at ronsamazingstories@gmail.com and tell us all about it. All submissions will be considered.

Finally, I am also excited to tell you about a new way to tell your story. Coming soon is Ron’s Amazing Stories Hot-line. Many of you have been asking for an easier way to tell your stories on the show. Soon, all you will have to do is pick up your phone and dial. You will be able to record your stories, make comments or ask questions to me without having to write a thing. This will be a test at first. My concern is that it will be abused and not be practical.  More on this later as I iron out the details.

Best Regards,
-Ron

The News – November 2018

Spooky 2018

A Freaky GraphI should start out with just how successful the Month Of Spooky was for 2018. Based on the numbers and the comments that I received this was our most successful event to date. They were up over last years event from about 8700 per episode to about 9400. That is an 8% increase over last year! These are the internet numbers and don’t reflect those who listen on the radio. Also, we received a total of 13 stories from you guys for the month. This is an all-time record for a single month in the history of the podcast. Thank you so much for listening and supporting the show.

The Radio Show

Many of you have been asking for clarification on the changing of the podcast and what it means to the radio show. I have talked this over with Jason, who produces the radio show, and things are not going to change. We will continue to have the same content on both platforms. However, there is a caveat: The radio show is limited to 55 minutes. If a podcast runs over that limit I will have to edit the radio side to fit the time requirement. (Example: This past month the Old Time Horror episode with Jim Harold had a total running time of 1:06. I was forced to edit that down. Not to worry though I used a little editing trick and sped up parts of the program. You may have noticed that in some places the action was a bit faster. Mostly on the OTR program.  Pretty tricky huh!)

Looking forward to Christmas

I am again asking for your stories.  This time Jason and I are planning a Christmas spirits program and want your spooky Christmas stories.  So, please if you have such a thing please get in contact with me at this link.  Thank you!
