Spotlight On Jason Dowd

Jason Dowd - ArtistOn Ron’s Amazing Stories this week we are back on the Horror Express with Jason Dowd. We talk about time travel and answer Jill’s question on religion and who is more radical. I have been working with Jason now for seven years and he has been a huge part of what the show has become. I thought that I would take a minute, throw the spotlight on him, and tell you all about him.

Art is a way of life for Jason Dowd. From an early age, he created it using various mediums, but none was as profound, to him than photography. Jason has a unique sense of beauty as he sees it in the dark places most people shy away from. He finds beauty deep inside urban decay, and inspiration wherever he goes by watching for things that most ignore. Growing up Jason’s hero was Walt Disney. He found him to be a fascinating individual, which he tries to mimic in his own work ethic. Like Disney, he believes if you care to dream you can accomplish anything.

In addition to his artwork, Jason hosts the AME Radio Show, the AME TV Show, and writes for the AME Magazine. He’s also produced a variety of music videos and TV shows for other hosts and performers. Add in that he is an award-winning photographer.

Of Jason I will say this, he has never failed to impress me with his quick thinking wit and exuberance for whatever project we endeavor on together. I am so very happy he came on the show that day back in 2012 and that he continues to be part of Ron’s Amazing Stories.

RAS #394 – Mister Mumbles

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this week Sylvia is back with more creepy stories for us, and we have a strange one about a little black puppy named Mister Mumbles. We then play a war story that has a happy ending, and we end the show with a scary one from If magazine, 1953. So, settle in for some amazing stories.

Featured Story – Mister Mumbles

Our featured tale comes to us from the website “as is” with no indication of where it came from or who wrote it. I checked it for plagiarism and didn’t find anything. It is titled Mister Mumbles and tells the tale of a possible monster in the puppies body.

Program Note: Sylvia Shults is a Librarian, Author, and Ghost Hunter. She has spent a lifetime in the pursuit of the weird and strange. Her non-fiction works include Ghost of the Illinois River, Fractured Spirits, 44 Years in Darkness, Hunting Demons and The Spirits of Christmas. All of her books are available on Amazon and you can find out more on her WordPress Home Page.

Calling All Scary Stories!

We Want Your Stories! On Ron’s Amazing Stories – The Blog this week I am issuing this all points bulletin. I am looking for your scary stories. The ninth annual month of spooky is fast approaching and I am dangerously low on new stories. I am quite sure that I don’t have enough to carry us through the entire Month Of Spooky 2019. Do you have one to share? It can be about any spooky topic and can even be complete fiction. Need help writing your story? I can do that too.

Just use the Story Submission below and let’s get started.

These Are Your Stories!

Update For JanuaryOn the podcast this week I think we have an amazing show. We won’t be featuring any stories that didn’t come from you. This will be the first time we have ever done a complete show dedicated to your stories.

Here’s how it will work.

On the show, we will have three brand new stories. These will include a creepy tale about a shaggy shadow beast, A real non-ghost story, and our featured story comes from LBJ Lake, Texas. It is a tale of a 1950s time-slip that occurred in 1984. Then we will reach back into the archives and play some of your favorite listeners submissions. This will be based on the feedback I received from you over the past few years.

So, be looking for all of this to happen Thursday, August 15, 2019
