This story was sent in by Tambra Souza who didn’t say where she was from. We have not had one quite like this and I really don’t know what to make of it. I do have some thoughts on this after you read the story. Tambra has titled this A Wolf Encounter.
My husband and I visited my in-laws one night. They live in a rural area with few streetlights. It was a typical fall night and we stayed at their place until around midnight. It was a clear night. No rain, no mist, no fog. Just a clear, cool fall night. Since it was late and there were so few people that lived in that area, the roads were deserted. It was just us alone on the road.
All of a sudden, my husband and I both saw something in the middle of the road in front of us. He slammed on the brakes at the exact same moment that I yelled “watch out!” In the middle of the road was what looked like a large dog or wolf. It was in the form of a white mist, but it was definitely there in front of us, and we definitely both saw it at the same moment. We had looked at each other in disbelief and when we turned back, it had vanished.
I said to him, “Did you see that too?”
He described seeing a transparent white wolf that appeared out of nowhere. I only saw the front half. We had no explanation for how we both saw the same thing at the same time, or how it had vanished into thin air.
We were very freaked out the rest of the way home that night. We were afraid it was some sort of bad omen but nothing bad happened. I’ve often wondered about it. Was it a sign of some kind? I don’t know. – Tambra Souza
Ron’s Thoughts: Well Tambra, was it a sign? The obvious attribute of the wolf is its nature as a predator. Also, it is strongly associated with ferocity, loyalty, sharp intelligence and appetite for freedom. Making it the symbol of the warrior on one hand, and that of the devil on the other. Of all land animals, the Wolf is rumored to have the strongest supernatural powers and is the most accomplished hunter. I hope that helps. Either way this is one strange story.
