The Halloween Bumblebee

This story is a real Halloween head scratcher. Agila Ramos who currently attends UCLA, but comes from the Philippines has titled her story The Halloween Bumblebee.

This happened two years ago at a Halloween party I hosted in my college sorority house. Every time I’d tell someone this story, their reactions would either be disbelief or would just straight up laugh.

The Halloween Bumblebee

My party was to start at 7pm, and some of my friends sent me a text message saying that they were on their way— they were partying at another friend’s house. My sister, two other friends and myself were getting ready upstairs. I heard the front door open and it sounded like someone was entering the house. I excitedly took a peek from the third floor balcony looking down and I saw what looked like someone in a bumblebee costume. I yelled out for whoever it was to come upstairs and chill with us, but it ignored me. Now, me being excited and all, ran all the way to the first floor to catch up with it and ask them to come up.

Well, when I went downstairs no one was there. I saw the bumblebee walking towards the kitchen. I followed but when I got there it was gone. I went back to the main room and checked the front door. It was locked and it didn’t seem like anyone had entered. It also felt extremely cold even though I had the windows closed and the heater on. It was as if there was a presence there. Before coming to the university I had lived in a haunted home in the Philippines for years. I know what it’s like when there’s a presence or an entity around. The hairs on the back of my neck raised up after I called my friends to ask if they stopped by. They said that they haven’t even left.

To top it off, nobody else in the group has a key to the house. I was the only one who actually lived there and the rest of my sorority sisters had all gone home for halloween. It was beyond impossible for them to even enter. I thought I was only imagining things but one of my friends pulled me aside and said, ”I saw it too.” – Agila Ramos

Shh…. They’ll Hear Us!

We have a story from Angie Simons. Angie now lives in Bridgeport, Connecticut. I have heard some creepy stories before, but this one is downright terrifying. I am not sure I would have stayed around after ! I might have looked into a nice sorority. Thank you Angie for sharing your story.

She has titled her story, “Shh…. they’ll hear us!”

Shhh...they'll hear us

This happened to me while I was in my first semester of college. Out of respect I will not name the school. I encountered this with six other girls. Our dorm used to be a hospital for kids who were terminally ill. Many many moons ago before it was turned into a campus dorm.

Now this happened on Halloween. It was a Friday night and most of the girls had gone out. As the night was coming to an end we were told that the lights were out in our dorm. There was a huge ice storm coming through that night and it knocked out the entire campus’s power. So me and my friend got a ride back to the dorm around 11:30 pm. As we drove on to the campus it was completely dark besides the car’s headlights. Also, it was a rainy ice mixture that was coming down pretty good, so it made the dorm look really scary.

We got inside and the girls were all camped out in the TV room for the night. They said when the lights went out a lot of stuff started happening and this is where they decided to stay until morning. The only light we had were the emergency lights that only lit up some of the hallways. Everything else was completely blacked out. This gave the whole place a dark creepy feeling.

My roommate was gone for the weekend. So, I would have been alone in my room, but my friend, her roommate and a couple of other girls decided to stay in my room with me. It was about 12 am when we all settled in and ordered some pizza. The rest of the town had power. The pizza came and we sat in the dark with our flashlights eating and talking.

One by one everyone started falling asleep. My friend and I were the last ones awake. My bed was right by the door, my friend was on her mattress on the floor by the door, and the other girls were all squeezed together on the opposite side of the room. Now, all of a sudden in the dark you could hear laughing and giggling kind of far off in the distance. I just laid there because I didn’t know what to think but I stayed quiet and didn’t move. The noise got louder and closer. It was like every 10 seconds the sound got louder and closer. By this time my friend on the floor whispered to me, “hey do you hear that?”

“SHHHHHH be quiet,” I snapped.

I was terrified and didn’t know what to do. At the same time the other girls woke up and all at once said, “WHAT IS THAT?”

Now we could all hear them! Kids, running towards our side of the building. I was honestly shaking now. One girl started to cry and I told her, “shh they’ll hear us!”

As I’m saying this the kids stop right outside our door. Then the door knob started to jiggle lightly at first and then it got a lot more aggressive. I told my friend on the floor to look under the door to see who was there. She looked and saw no one and the knob abruptly stopped moving. She jumped in bed with me. Then we heard the kids laughing, giggling again. They started running but this time they were moving away from the door and eventually it faded away.

My friend and I didn’t go back to sleep after that. When the lights finally came on we got up, got ready and headed out for the day. We never really talked about what we experienced that night but it was so scary. I knew then that I wouldn’t stay in the dormroom again if the lights were knocked out, and I never did. – Angie Simons

On The Podcast This Week – 7/18/24

On Ron’s Amazing Stories this week we have another special show. As a kid I always loved going to a good ole’ double feature at the Kiggins Theater in downtown Vancouver. I remember my mom dropping us off and the fun and adventure that followed. She gave us enough coins for a drink and popcorn which made the whole experience that much better. Years later I would become the projectionist at that very theater and I got to show many double features during my time there.

On the show we don’t have a double feature, but how about a triple? That’s right we have three stories from the classic OTR series Lights Out.  You will get to hear a crazy story titled, Chicken Heart. Followed by The Word, which tells the story of Adam and Eve in a way that you never thought possible. Then we will end it all with The Day The Sun Exploded.  Three amazing stories that should get you thinking.

You can listen to this podcast on Thursday at Ron’s Amazing Stories, download it from Apple Podcasts, stream it on Stitcher Radio or on the mobile version of Spotify. Do you prefer the radio?
