On The Podcast This week – 6/15/23

On the podcast this week we have a special story sent in by Rodrick Quarles. Rod hails from the great state of Illinois. (Home of the Cubs and our very own Sylvia Shults.) This story prompted me to remind myself just how much I love hearing your stories. I get asked all the time, Do I believe all of them? The short answer is no, but Like I have said, There is truth in every story told. They have to come from somewhere and be spurred by some event.

Having said that our story for this week might be one of the strangest we have had on the show. Rod’s experience is the stuff of both nightmares and wonders. It takes place in the town of Forreston, IL and has both physical and vocal elements. Not to give too much away, but trains are involved as well, and as you might already know about me I love train stories. Rod has titled this one, Will You Play With Me?

While we are on the subject I would like to take a moment and remind you that you too can have your story featured on the show. All you have to do is head to the website and click on the story submission banner. Fill out that form and I will read your story. If you don’t feel up to writing it, just let me know how I can contact you and we will write it together. There are so many great tales out there and it is a shame to not share them with the world. Also, your story does not have to be paranormal. We have had them range from sentry goats to an unfortunate dunk in a river.

Thank you!
Ron

This Week’s Podcast:

In addition to Rod’s story we have an exciting adventure from the archives of radio, but not the golden age. We introduce a radio mini-series that was created for Armed Forces radio called Horizons West. This one chronicles the life and times of the Lewis and Clark expedition. And I think you are going to like it. The episode I will play is how it all began and is titled, Mr. Jefferson’s Dream.

You can listen to this podcast on Thursday at Ron’s Amazing Stories, download it from Apple Podcasts, stream it on Stitcher Radio or on the mobile version of Spotify. Do you prefer the radio? We are heard every Thursday at 10:00 pm and Sunday Night at 11:00 PM (EST) on AMFM247.COM. Check your local listing or find the station closest to you at this link.Social Links:
