Our story comes from The Inner Sanctum. The anthology series featured stories of mystery, terror, and suspense. It began in 1941 and ran to 1952. It is an extremely intelligent tale about a murder with paranormal side effects. It is called, Death Pays The Freight, and is a perfect tale for the Month Of Spooky 2017! It first hit airwaves on October 5, 1952

An entertaining story mix. I especially enjoyed the inclusion of a children’s story. I find that I enjoy well written children’s stories much more as an adult than I ever did as a kid.

I agree with you. That one is over 100 years old and has quite a following. However, I can’t find anything about the life of the author and I have tried!
